Your infrastructure endpoints at your finger tips
The NearEDGE's solution is built around 3 types of entities
- Endpoints, also known as nodes
- Control center, responsible to manage the basic operation of the nodes. It resides in your data center or in our cloud.
- Access gateways providing secure remote connectivity to nodes. The gateways always reside in your data center.
The endpoints run a Linux or Windows operating system of your liking in a consistent manner under a centralized control. With this control you can replace, repair, or event prevent operation of the OS.
Using the Access gateway, all your existing tools regain the capability to manage all of your endpoints seamlessly and without disruption. The always on connectivity channel securely transport your application-to-machine traffic to the nodes, without touching any other components nor the control center.
Beside running the operating system of your choice a node runs two NearEGDE components
- Runtime, installed and operating inside the OS. Its main duty, beside rebooting the OS is to enable the remote connectivity. To do so, it:
- Does not expose any ports
- Only uses outbound HTTPS connections
- Is fully hardened
- Boot, which resides outside of the OS making it bulletproof from attacks. Its main function is to enable OS installation and/or repair. It also initiates operation of the OS, as instructed by the Control center. The endpoint being unattended, reliability is of utmost importance and as such this component is:
- Fully redundant
- Does not expose any ports
- Only connect to the Control center and the Access Gateway, using HTTPS
- Hardened
Both components are under permanent control from the Control center.

With NearEDGE running outside the OS, you can, amongst other things:
- Access the endpoint even if the OS is defective and thus resolve the issue remotely
- Significantly improve your cybersecurity posture by unraveling full disk encryption
- Disable, or even remove Windows / Linux if or when it is compromise
